Sir Eric Woodward School is a K-12 school that offers quality learning and support for all students.  With a highly qualified and dedicated professional team all students are given maximum access to an extensive, engaging and rewarding curriculum.

In keeping with Department of Education (DoE) and NSW Board of Studies, Teaching Education Standards (BOSTES) guidelines SEWS has in 2014 implemented the new English K-6 syllabus for our primary age students. In addition to this we have also implemented English, Mathematics, Science and History 7-10 Life Skills syllabuses for students enroled in year 7 and year 9. Further implementation will align with the syllabus implementation timeline and BOSTES recommendations.

Capture

All students are eligible for the Record of Student Acheivement (RoSA) Life Skills post 17 years of age and completion of year 10. All students are working towards the achievment of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) Life Skills credential on the completion of year 12.

In addition to our students working towards the Australian Curriculum outcomes through NSW BOSTES syllabus documents, the school offers many diverse programs including, hydrotherapy, music therapy, phsyiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy which are embedded across their curriculum to support personalised student educational goals. These programs are diversified to cater for the two delivery modes of education and the additional learning and support needs of all students.

Personalised Learning

All students have personalised learning plans (PLPs) and all adjustments are determined in negotiation with parents and carers and other key stakeholders. BOSTES syllabus documents and the Australian Curriculum lead all outcome based learning. Teachers create stimulating lessons to suit the age and developmental abilities of each student. There is a strong emphasis on  capturing student interest and tapping into each students strength and motivation for maximum engagment.
